Thanks super, im waiting on some showgirl/silkie eggs to add to inucubator! Oooo k cant believe i went and got more eggs lol

where did you get the silkie eggs??? I have some in the bator but I don't think that I am gonna have any hatch!!!

well, I shut the bator off... they were all either duds or had the blood ring... not a single one outta eight had veining!!! I am so sad... can't believe it!!

That really sucks. Are you going to get some more? This is a good facebook group with a lot of people in your area. http://www.facebook.com/groups/237691836313553/ I would reccomend making a post on there and let people know what eggs you are looking for. Bet you will find then within easy driving distance. Let us know what you do.

Oh man that does suck! Im down to 9 eggs from 13....I moved my thermostat and it became more controlled. Hoping for the best.

Yeah my last batch was shaken not stirred! So sorry. I have a replacement batch in for this hatch a long so hopefully I don't have as many blood rings at 7 days like I had on the last one. This shipping box had a slice but my eggs came packed in styrofoam boxes inside the big box padded with paper and bubble wrap, hope that did the trick. Still I think the shaking scrambles the air cell.

Have you tried looking for eggs locally? Craigslist?

I know I didn't wait till day 10 to candle, but being that I have some free eggs coming tomorrow i figure i'd better get the ones out of the bator to make sure i've got room for the 16 i'm getting. Still haven't figured out lockdown, but will just do the best I can. might make a make shift hatch box for lockdown. I've got all sorts of vivarium stuff, so i'm sure i can come up with something.

Trying again is the only answer. i have some veining in eggs that still have roaming air cells from the postal gorillas. So it can work. Heck I have one egg from the busted hatch that went to 113 that is still going. I don't usually give up until a fat lady sings well. Im fat and I sing poorly, I'll know the difference. chuckle. My Mad Hatchers Batch is rolling right along, old eggs, refrigerated eggs, dirty eggs, misshapen eggs, over heated eggs, and there is detectable veining in a lot of them. I won't toss until at least day 14, some embryos are just too hard to see. I'll candle again in a few days, just because it makes me happy. Don't know if that last chick from the busted hatch is going to hatch properly but I will give him a chance. You can do it, it takes luck and practice. its worth it in the end. Best of luck next time!
