Setting eggs with cracks

I am setting eggs, and a friend of mine gave me eggs to set, and he only wanted as payment to get the green eggs he had 3/12 green and I had some extra green ones to set for him. 2 of his had cracks. I am going to still set them, and I put nail polish over the cracked areas. They did not leak and all egg parts were contained. I hope they will be okay, I have his cracked eggs in a diff incubator than the one I was using for my other eggs. I am going to let you guys know how it goes, I have not had great luck with cracked eggs, but we will see... below are the eggs

The second one is worse more light comes through, and if you look with out shining a light you would not see the cracks, nothing is leaking though.

I've never had a cracked egg hatch either. They often become a stinking mess, so keep sniffing them.

They are separate from my main incubator, but I will sniff, and candle.

I've read with cracked eggs, they lose too much of the moisture they need for hatching. May need to compensate by upping your humidity quite a bit, not sure if that will help or not though.

Wax is commonly used to seal cracks, but most recently I came across someone describing how to boil an egg (not one you're hatching) and taking the pliable boiled membrane and applying it to the egg. I really wish I were paying closer attention now as it was an extremely intriguing method, maybe someone else will pipe in about it.

The less you handle the cracked eggs the less chance you will introduce bacteria to them.

So at about say 7 or 8 I accidentally dropped the thermometer on one of my silkie eggs and cracked it. I didn’t see the crack at first and because my chicken help turn eggs didn’t notice it for a day or two. Everything seemed to be intact so I actually crazy glued it shut and it hatched right along with all the other eggs no problem. Mine was just a straight line but down 1/4 to 1/3 of the egg. Good luck.
