Setting Exciting eggs April 22nd, Anybody with me?

Heavy rain and wind here today! Sure hope our power doesn't go out! We get a lot of power outages here. We are out in the boonies, 25 minutes out of town. I'll be looking forward to hearing all about your next candling!!

Yah, I lived in Santa Rosa for 21 years and rarely had power outages, and if we did they lasted 30 minutes at the most. I have lived here in Susanville for 7 months an already had probably over 20 power outages, and they usually last 3 -12 hours.

I just candled for the first time. I have 6 eggs total. 2 are clear and the other 4 have air sacs. I think one has a blood ring(hard to see because it's a green egg). One looks really good and I could see movement! So I think I have 3 out of the six developing.

It's a small world! We lived in Kenwood for 12 years! We lived on the road up to Sugarloaf State park. I worked for a few years as a vet assistant in Sonoma. Didn't you just love Western farm Supply? I even sold some of my chickens to them!! Oh, and your BLRW chicks lines sound perfect because mine are Paul's and Catt's lines.

I love Western Farm, but I was a city girl back then, and could only go look at the chicks and dream of someday being able to have them. Then I married a Rancher boy, and now I'm turning into a country girl, LOL. My Parents are still in Santa Rosa, and Hubby and I hope that after he finishes school we can move to Cloverdale, and have a ranch there.

I was a city girl too. Born in Berkeley and my family moved to Grass Valley where I met my country boy husband. What type of schooling is your husband doing? I wondered what brought you to Susanville? My best friend used to live in Cloverdale. It is a nice little (is it still little?) town. I sure wish I had my eggs so I was hatching along with you! I am supposed to email the lady end of the month. She had a heart attack. I have been waiting for almost 2 months for her to feel better enough to send the Ameraucana eggs. I have a broody hen who has been sitting on an empty nest for weeks now and I'm going to put some of the eggs under her. Maybe all of them if my BLRW eggs come soon!! This is going to be exciting watching the progress of your eggs

My husband is studying to be a registered Nurse. We were living in Chico, but the place where we were living and working had a tree fall on it and it started an electrical fire while we were out of town, and I think the owner of the property blamed us, so he layed us off saying he would just have his daughter take over the place. Also We believe the apartment we were living in was illegal, because he had a city inspection on September 7th and told us he would give us $1000 if we were out by September 1st, which was just strange. The guy was fishy about the way he did business. Anyway we started looking for work and had the option of Susanville or Mendocino Coast, and although the coast was paying more and closer to home, DH would have to drive 2 hours over the Jenner cliffs to get to school in Santa Rosa, and in the winter that would be very dangerous, so we settled in Susanville, and we are about a mile from his school, so it works out well.

As for Cloverdale, it has gotten bigger, but if you get out away from the main part of town, it's still very country.

Oh and I just talked with DebiRaymond, and she has a Blue Wheaten roo over wheaten hen, so if you need eggs, she may be able to help.

Hi, Mrbstevens~

It is so exciting when you see movement in the eggs!!! My last hatch I must have candled every day just to see them move!!!!

Were your eggs shipped? What kind are they? I wish I was hatching along with you! Maybe in a couple of weeks when my eggs come I can join in.
Happy egg hatching!

How traumatic! I need to contact the lady who has the Ameraucanas and if she still can't send eggs I will ask DebiRaymond about hers. Where is DebiRaymond located? This line of Blue Wheaten Ameraucanas I'm trying to get are really pretty, and the hens have especially good type with very full, fluffy beards.
