none of my turken hens will set there eggs why? is there anything to help them do it i have nesting boxes but they dont use them i have hay and they make a little like circle and then lay eggs but none will set and also

Whats the best hen to have set other eggs like other chicken eggs and is it true some hens will set duck eggs? and actually succesfully hatch them??

If a hen is truly broody, she'll hatch about anything she can cover with her bustle.

Not all chickens will go broody, actually, MOST modern hens won't go broody. The brood has been bred out of them! Egg production ceases while they're in hatch mode, so many people prefer that they don't want to set.

Henderson's chart mentions some of the breeds that tend to go broody more than others, but that is no guarentee either. This is the link to it, but they must be doing maintenance on their server right now (common on Sunday evenings actually, I'm a former sys admin!) check it out later, go to the complete alpha list link at the top to see more breeds. http://www.ithaca.edu/staff/jhenderson/chooks/dual.html

Some breeds go broody, some don't. Some birds within a given breed will go broody, some won't. There are only a couple of breeds that almost always have hens that will set: Silkies, bantam Cochins, and a couple of others.

IMO you're better off getting an incubator.

My goldlaced wyandotte hen is hatching some now right next to my white rock hen! I do have a white rock hen that hatched two different sets this spring/summer.
This is a different white rock.
I have 4 fuzzy butts that hatched today. Waiting to see how many hatch for these mama birds.
