Setting Mouse Traps. I Can't Be The Only One They Terrify.

I don't like the drowning part. I like a quick kill. It's one reason we haven't made one of those even though they seem very effective. Is they a good way to die? Just a personal moral dilemma for me.

Yep! I know exactly what you mean.
Ours is where I can't see them or hear them. Out of sight out of mind.
I'd rather do it this way than search for one that got away. I never find it until I smell it :sick
Some folks use anti freeze, a bit pricey for me.

I use antifreeze in the winter months out in the shed, it's just to stop the water from freezing, not talking about a lot of it.

I use these, bait them with peanut butter, and they work very well. Batteries last a long time, and no snapped fingers ever, and I can put them in the coop without worrying about a bird getting hurt. They have versions at Walmart, Lowes, Tractor Supply, etc.

Just read this post to my hubby he said “really?” Picked up his iPhone and is ordering as I post!
Thanks!!
I think this will be perfect in the run. :celebrate

The only thing that gets me is figuring out what to do with the mouse once you kill it
I'd probably just go outside (while holding my nose) and throw it as far as I could out into the woods :lau
Mine went in the turkey poop bucket, than got dumped on the turkey poop pile. We have 40 acres, lots of places to toss a mouse here. :) Just gotta pick.

i don't mind mice traps. rat traps (use them for weasels) hurt quite a bit. been slapped twice by them. #3 coil springs (coyote foot traps) hurt less (they don't hurt at all)

but then there is the daddy of all common traps the 330 coni bear, use them for beaver there made to kill what up to 100 lb animal. scary stuff.
Yeah, I wouldn't even get close to those traps. :)

Best thing to do to get rid of the mouse is to stuff it down a 2"wide 8" deep dirt hole with a coil spring trap about 6-8" away from it. Now you're trapping the fox that wants to kill your chickens with the mouse that wants eat your chicken food and then shit on your counter top...But that's just my opinion.
