I set eggs on the 26th. First time for my homemade cabinet incubator with egg turner. Hope to have good hatch rate. I am also building a hatcher separately to hatch them. Almost done.

Backyard mix and my incubator can hold 180 eggs. I have 180 in there.

That's a whole lot of eggs mine can only hold about 50

Yes, it's a lot but I need to test my incubator to see if it's OK.

Day 5 now and 60% shows veins. The 40%, most are clear, some questionable, some blood rings. The blood ring eggs, I know why. I made the windows for viewing, the sun shined into the windows on the eggs couple days ago and that caused blood rings. Far less blood ring than LG incubator.

For testing my incubator, I push the limit and leave it out in the cold night and warm day light. The sun even warmed up the walls of the incubator the first 5 days. I have confident that I can get all the necessary data to build a better incubator, light weight and automated.

Oh that is pretty good,I'd love to build a real nice frigerator incubator some day myself.
