Setting my first ever eggs on Aug 27, is anyone else?

Congratulation. I got 54 and 1 is zipping now. Some of them cannot walk, just crawl on their stomach. I wonder if I can do anything to help them?

I think you should just give them time to get thier strength.

Let them alone... they need to build up their muscles and flopping around helps them dry as well as strengthen. They have a full tummy of egg yolk and will sleep just like all newborns.

Kass...you will definitely be hooked now. I have used the same incubator for over 15 years....and get excited with each hatch.

Give it 24 hrs and it will be walking, one of mine wasn't walking till the next day newborns have to learn balance and build strength

Hatch update- I have 12 hatched now
10 Cochin some with frizzle gene
2 silkies with sizzle gene

3 eggs left, will see how they are tomorrow

On another note what kinda chick feed will everyone be feeding, mine will be on medicated chick starter once they go in the brooder

I use medicated starter this time, last time, I used non medicated. I have 59 hatched and 2 zipping, about 7 pipped.

No, not at all. These were bred specially for the black skin.
