How cool you could see more I've been thinking of buying one I just might now. How stable has your temp been? Last time I quit on the afternoon of the 18th day and they started peeping the next day so this time I'm doing it in the PM of the 17th and if I put them in the morning ie:before noon I count that day as day one but that's me going by my last hatch. Many people count the first day as the day after they set them. Just do it how you think is right don't second guess just do it and keep notes and adjust the next time you do it. My last hatch was great and I left the first ones in there for 36 hours before I took them out there was only one left that hatched and it was pipped and almost all the way zipped and then I needed to help it get out because when I opened up the incubator it dried up too much.... so be careful when you decide to remove the chicks as it does lower the humidity no matter what you do....Good Luck I think hatching is a lot of fun.
The mini mag lite was well worth it for us it was so much easier to hold the egg and slide the light around the egg, never expected to see what we did. As far as consistant temp. I have 3 thermometers in each incubator and all three read different so I'm guessing somewhere fromm 99 to 100 degrees. I guess I'll go the full 18 days and then lock them down, I can already see that when that time comes I am going to need some sponges in the bottom to get the humidity up to 60-65. Thanks for the info.
