I decided I'd quit being obsessive about the hatching.... have had better hatch results. Last time I hatched I ignored the bator except for turning and temp checks. Got 19 out of 22 to hatch.

I candled my 20 over the weekend and have 16 reservations for hatch on the 14th, 4 no shows. Steady 100* @ 40%, So far it's been smooth sailing.

this is my first hatch in the bator....I have been trying to ignore mine too

except for temp/humidity checks and turning!!!! I am starting to grow impatient

I candled the chicks last night 33 of the 36 are doing great at this point. I only lost 3 so were doing good.

Hi all! Very exciting to read about your growing babies in bators! I haven't posted in a while.

We are on day 15 here. 15 of my 36 eggs went out to the broody hen! Yay!! I love broodies!! She knocked one out of the nest, so she is down to 14. She really doesn't appreciate her eggs being candled, but I just had to look at a couple the other night. They looked good. Except I couldn't see into the FBCM eggs at all! Too dark. Will just have to wait and see. She was in a little 12x12 nesting box, so we took out a divider and then added another platform so she has 24x24 now. We are calling it the "broody suite". I didn't want to move her or separate her from the others as there are only 4 other birds in the coop and 3 of them are scared of her.

Of the other 21 in the bator, 2 have been broken. One is still cracked, but I left it in there. All looked good during the first week, but now, not so much. There are several clear eggs. Some that look like they have died. Some still going strong. I don't stare at the bator like I used to. I know the repti-temp is doing a good job. I really just go in there to turn the eggs.

Will candle tonight and go into lockdown on Friday!! Expecting chicks to hatch Monday night, Tuesday morning. Hoping for the best. At least the broody will hatch some. I know she is doing everything right. Did I mention how much I

broodies!!?
