yay Melissa... hatching thoughts for the rest...great news... I found that the marran eggs were thick and my chicks had a hard time getting out of...but most did and I had to help 4...

Today I still have 1 chick and 3 zipping and 1 pip by the time I had to leave for work...

I had decided that today I'd throw out all the eggs that hadn't hatched. Woke up this morning - and another one is zipping. Lesson learned: Don't be too quick to give up!

One more hatchling in the incubator this morning; that means all 11 of my eggs that made it to lockdown have hatched, for a 100% rate in the hatcher. 11 of 15 that were fertile hatched, for a 73% rate on the fertile eggs! The combo of dry incubation and keeping my fingers out of the hatcher is definitely a winner. I'll be using it from now on!

Yes the shells were nice and thick and my girls are so beautiful and big now and their eggs have almost doubled in size since they started laying...my marran sisters are very tame also and have a lot of spunk...I didn't think i would like them as much as I do
