Setting today who's with me?!?

I just realized this morning my temps have been too low, but it's early enough on that I am going to keep going with a higher temp and hope they hatch just a couple days late. I also had someone contact me asking what I had in my incubator because something got into her hen house last night and killed all but one of her chickens. I figured if the hatch was going to be late anyway, I might as well throw in some more eggs so I know I will have enough to share. Any excuse to expand the hatch, right?

Yes and it just shot up for no reason. This weekend my aunt and I are going to build a whole new one
I'm so sorry

! Maybe someone in there survived it anyways? I hope you would be able to start a new hatch when you get it sorted out.

. We just built a 2nd incubator...that way you can start as many as you want whenever you want and then use the other incubator for the lockdown/hatch.

Sometimes low temperatures can mean a hatch will still grow, but will be delayed...too many days at a critical point in development could mean "birth defects". I'm hope they are okay in there.

Well, it's day 6 here...not much happening. I couldn't keep my hands off the eggs and did weigh and candle a couple eggs day 4. They appeared to be losing enough weigh, but I couldn't see much growing yet. Hopefull they are growing in there!!

Thanks everyone for your concerns I don't think there was a power failure. I've already collected a couple eggs to go in to the new hatch probably around Wednesday or Thursday. I'm gonna test the new bator for atleast three days instead of just two this time. 18Peeps I'm glad to hear your eggs are still doing great!

I would love to join and learn....a little late. I haven't hatched in 15 years. I just set mine (14 LF mixed eggs) today @ 0900-- 4/25. (3 green, 6 white,5 brown) They were shipped. One broken and the rest pretty scrambled. I don't expect much, but am following all the advice on Sally Sunshine and Pete55's notes. I will enjoy hearing about other's success. Count me in. Hatch date is 5/16. Peep-Peep

Alright welcome to our little group

. So update on my current bator : I turned it on about 2 hours ago and made some minor adjustments and I'm starting to think it's my thermomator, cause when I just checked it the temp read 120 but it didn't feel at all hot in there so maybe it's a little off?
