Setting today who's with me?!?

Alright all is fixed now * I hope* I moved the thermomator over instead of directly under the light and now it's reading a perfect 95.5 since my last post. So keeping my fingers crossed in the next couple of days that it won't shoot up no more.

So, in addition to my 59 eggs in the incubator (I didn't mention previously that one of those 59 is a double yoker...so that should be interesting), I also set 11 on Wednesday and 5 yesterday under broody hens. I should have a lot of chicks in about 3 weeks!

It's reading 98 now so I'm finally happy with this bator for the moment. I am probably going to put in some eggs Wednesday or Thursday just depending how many I've collected by then I'm gonna try and put ten in.

Day 7 here for the Barnevelders and so I couldn't resist candling and weighing them. They seem to be losing enough wieght so far. 28 out of 30 appear to be growing normally, 1 appears to be growing, but growing in sort of a clump (don't know what that means) and the other appears to be a yolker but I left it in just in case because I'm not an expert. I need to post picture...I could see the eye moving around in there. It was so neat!

99.5 is optimal, but I think 98 is okay too...they might just take longer to hatch. Good luck! It's fun to follow along to see how everyone is doing

...can't wait to see how that one turns out. That's great! Can one have too many chicks? Wait, no, don't answer that

I would love to join and learn....a little late. I haven't hatched in 15 years. I just set mine (14 LF mixed eggs) today @ 0900-- 4/25. (3 green, 6 white,5 brown) They were shipped. One broken and the rest pretty scrambled. I don't expect much, but am following all the advice on Sally Sunshine and Pete55's notes. I will enjoy hearing about other's success. Count me in. Hatch date is 5/16. Peep-Peep
Welcome

4/12 eggs started developing on day 3. This is my best one, lucky number 9.
