I set my ebay Rhodebars on Friday. They are cooking now.

How's everyone coming on their eggs? Still looking good?

I am having a hard time. They were shipped USPS and were very "scrambled." They (14) were settled for 24hrs before going in the bator. They are on Day ....almost 4, but are in a paper egg carton and vertical, w/ turning every 12 hours (I tip the whole incubator 45 degrees) due to air cell displacement w/ shipping. The top of the egg temperature is 101-ish and the bottom is 100-ish, and I am following Sally Sunshine's advice. I can't move, touch, candle till day 10. I feel like I am missing all the fun of watching the development. I will try very hard next time to get local eggs or drive to pick them up. Still excited and have named each egg....hoping for even 3 to hatch. Am enjoying hearing of other successes and learning lots of new things. LMS

I wish you good luck! I just put my 8 eggs in the bator so hopefully I'll have atleast a 50% hatch rate even though that isn't very likely. Good luck everyone.

Good luck with the ebay eggs. I ordered half a dozen of silkies and 80 % of them were either scramble or infertile (my first batch). I am putting the last two eggs on lockdown tonight. I have the feeling they are infertile but i could not tell by the porous shell. Just being hopeful and cross my fingers for a

3 developing, 2 with red ring, and the rest might be infertile.

Okay I did a candleing session just now and thought I'd share the results with you.

These eggs are between 1-3 days old. (Silly me forgot to write the dates on them). I only got really good pictures of egg #1. It's a beige colored egg.










Can ya'll see anything good happening for this egg in the future?????

I sure hope so.

The next picture is egg #4 I just want to know if yall can tell me anything about it cause I can't see nothing.

I'm not seeing anything in there but the yolk so far, but day 3 could be early or I wonder if it's just the picture and maybe your eyes can see veining but the camera does not show? I meant to photograph the eggs in my incubator every day, but it hasn't happened yet, so my hat is off to you for taking pictures!

I'm adding three more eggs to the bator just to hopefully have a better hatch rate. I will try and post pictures tonight because there is a dark spot developing in three of the eggs. I traced the outline of the dots to mark their progress.
