setting tonight/tomorrow 5/20-5/21/15

I switched out the little giant heating element and thermostat for my old light bulb with a water heater thermostat and it is holding the temp perfectly! I have 2 thermometers in there also and they are both reading the exact same thing so I'm not to worried about that. But that for the help everyone, how are y'all eggs doing?

Today is day seven so in about five hours I'll be candling for the purpose of marking air sacs and if I see any questionable ones marking them. So excited first week is almost under wraps and only two more to go! I accidentally broke my thermometer but there is the units reliable one on the machine I'm more or less going off of till I can get a new gauge. This bunch seems to be sucking up ALL the moisture. Maybe it's because I have twice as many eggs but trying to keep the humidity above even 20% has been a challenge with this set. My first set was the opposite problem. Trying to keep the humidity under 50%

Getting ready to add another 4 dozen mixed banty's and another half dozen ringnecks for good measure. Later tonite I will start candling the first bunch. Candle another group tomorrow and some on Friday. Have over 200 in the cabinet now, all staggered for hatching.

How did the candling go? I'm on day 7 tomorrow and can't wait to do my official candling and mark air cells! I hand turn or tilt because I'm working with shipped eggs and I took a peek at only 1 tonight, I saw that little baby in there moving around!! Last time I made it to lockdown with all eggs that showed development on day 5, so I'm really hoping the same happens this time and none of them quit! Post some pics of your air cells if you can, so we can compare! Oh yeah and I'm having the opposite problem, I have no water in my incubators at all and I'm struggling to stay under 50%! I prefer 35% but the air cells will tell! I'm thinking of re calibrating my hygrometer so I know for sure. 50 seems so high running dry but it's super muggy here. 1/3 of the way down!!!

It went okay but I have about six out of the forty one that look like no air cell. Anyone have any ideas on why that is? The rest have an air cell about a nickel to quarter size. Sorry no pics :( . I have about five that look like blood rings are starting so boo to that. Exciting watching them wiggle around in the egg at only one week huh?!

The ones that look like they have no air cell, do they have development? I'm thinking they are clears or infertile.

Nope no development. Thanks for that info! I had no idea clears never devolved air cells. Thank God for this group! Also I was finally able to keep humidity around 30%-35%

which I'll gladly take over the 10% it was at! Also on a side note the four from my first hatch are doing great! Even the crippled one! Another side note my baby bunnies are starting to jump out of the nesting box

OMG...you have baby bunnies?? You know I have a soft spot in my heart for rabbits! Baby bunnies are the BEST! I used to have Netherland Dwarfs & Dutch. What kind are they?? So adorable, congrats!! Oh wanna see my cool candling pic? This egg is very transparent. Check out the veins on this baby...

Candled 15 of my 41 eggs (day 8) 5 blood rings, 5 developing, 5 that appear clear... So frustrating... I know it will take a little while to get all of the kinks worked out of things but I just want some chicks :(
