Good morning All! How is incubating going? Any trouble with regulating your temp and/or humidity? I'm thinking about firing up the bator again...see what good influence my BYC friends have on me...lol! Maybe order some Silkie (gasp), BCM or Bantam Ameraucana eggs. My chicks are 3 weeks old this week...wow...already! They don't stay babies for long...that's for sure! I'm sexing the chicks now and weeding out all the little roos, keeping some layers for summer production as my older girls slow down.

Christy, have your pips turned into zips on those ameraucana eggs?

Hi All;
I am starting round two tomorrow. This was not expected so soon.
The lady who sent me the last eggs came to town to visit another
chicken person and wanted to bring me some eggs since so many
of the last batch did not hatch. I have 18 millie fluer and golden neck
eggs plus I am going to throw in 6 of my barnyard surprises.
I wound up with 7 chicks from the last batch. 6 of the shipped
and one barnyard surprise. They are all doing good.

Depends on how many hatch from this batch! Got 12 on the ground, 12 or 13 pipping, 2 zipping, and one was breach and drowned

In all, not bad so far! I will keep everyone posted. Got 2 pics attached here, but if you look on youtube find the handle suzanneshawesq, it's the very first one hatching. Almost 10 minutes but a great video!

Nope, no idea if it's male or female, I think it's a jumbo pharaoh tho. He's kickin and running around and eating and drinking, but he's doing something a lil weird. He's laying down every once in a while and stretching out, almost looks like he's dead, but when you give him a lil rub he jumps up and goes back to his business like nothing happened....kinda weird.
The 3PM wave has stopped, hoping for another 8PM wave....maybe 10?

I have weird chicks too then! My BSL & RIR chicks will stop and lay down stretching their necks out as far as they can - almost like a turtle sticking its head out from under the shell! Good luck on your remaining hatch
