Some Easter Candy

They are beautiful babies and you made a beautiful backdrop! So creative and perfect for Easter! Congrats on the great hatch!!! I love those climbing roses too!!!! I'll have to send out a little spring pic from FL!

I hope to get to actually see some come out of their shells this time! I AM ready! I've never seen Wyandottes in person... Can't wait for them to pip, unzip, and come out:D
Snow, tooooooo much snow! There was some drifting and blowing - so hard to be precise but it was up to my knees when I went out to help shovel out the car. So I'd guess 16 inches. Today is beautifully sunny, I hope the snow goes away soon.
Well, if you ever have too much citrus, by all means send some up! Maybe I could send you a lovely rooster

Melinda, are you are on PIP watch yet? How's the weather there...still snowing? 16 inches of snow is a lot! Wow! I'd be happy to bottle some warm weather and send it up to you and some citrus but ....hold the rooster! LOL!!! I just got rid of 2 more this week.

Here's an updated pic of my babies.......

and a spring teaser pic for you winter bound folks....spring is coming, hang in there!!! My lilies are blooming in time for Easter!

Blueberries are growing nicely too

The pics are all beautiful I will be posting white snowy pics after Sunday night into Monday the way it sounds. The calendar says spring so I just have to wait for Mother Nature to catch up;) the teaser pics give me more hope yet that it will come.

NOthing yet, but that's OK. I'll peek in every now and again. Hey, did that one move? No Mom, they aren't moving... teenagers are so------ooo supportive;)
I am doing half on the bator floor and half in the cartons and see if there's any difference in hatching ease/success. The snow stopped and the sun is glorious but it's windy and frikkin' cold. But I can pretend it's warm sitting by the window.

Need an opinion ladies - the chicks from our first hatch... Can I put them out in the "big girl" coop yet? They are well feathered but its still in the teens at night and mid 30s to lower 40s in the daytime.
Should I just keep them in the brooder until its warmer out? If so, how warm? My regular flock clearly became acclimated to the weather by being out from last summer into winter. But I feel that sticking these little ones out, even tough feathered will be too much of a temperature shift. Help!:idunno

love the blueberry and lilly pix - I can't wait for green grass and flowers!

Quote: 1. take them off heat in your house
2. put them outside during the sunny part of the day when you can observe for a few hours a day increasing time daily
3. after a week you might be able to put them outdoors if it stays above freezing.

I am putting mine out with a heat lamp this week. It is supposed to be above freezing all next week.

Good morning! Thanks Vicki for responding to Melinda. I'm at the office today til 1 or so and got busy.

Can't wait to hear about the PIPS happening out there!! Should be a good hatching weekend!! That means more baby pics!!!
