Went into LOCKDOWN !!!! Put in 8 eggs to start, ended up with 6 going into lockdown.

OK got home, looked in on the eggs and saw a pip in one of them , I have 6 eggs that went on to hatching status. When i picked them up to take them out of the turner, I could feel movement in all the eggs, and heard chirping. My humidity is at 81, but just added water, so i will check it in a little while and make sure it dosnt get too high. temp is around 99.5 and climbing back up. I also candled the eggs one last time and all had movement in them. and all seem to be in the air sack with their beaks. I sure cant wait to see what we get out of this.

Will post pics as soon as i get something. Great to see some aer hatching already for everyone else.

What breed do you have going on there????

We have no clue on the breed other than the austrolarp and leghorn roo, the other eggs could be silkie or polish[VIDEO][VIDEO][/VIDEO][/VIDEO]

No pips but my hatcher is cheeping at me this evening.!

I have nothing so far...I thought there was a pip in egg number one, but after I shined the flashlight in there I can tell it is just a little line in the egg. But that is okay, as it is a bit early for my eggs. I am expecting pips in the night or early tomorrow and then hatching through Saturday and into Sunday.

But in other egg news, my newest set is on day 4 so I will candle them tonight. Hoping to see some good veining!

Got three of the eggs with pips, the first one with a pip when i got home is now zipping. He or she is about a 1/4 of the way down one side of the egg. This one egg hasnt stopped all night, its just rocking and pecking, i finally got to see its beak. I cant stay away from the hatcher, temps are at 101.4 and the humidity is holding strong at 78%. I used a small glass bowl for dipping sauce, a new wash rag and filled the trough, with warm water. The other three eggs have moved around but no pips in them yet that i can see. I cant wait, I cant sleep I just need to go to a motel room for the night. NAHHH Its only friday, an easy day to a great weekend of hatching.

First noticed the PIP in the egg when i got home, I took a picture of it after I pulled the egg turner and set things in place.



about 5 hours after I got home. I got home about 5:30pm




Here is the little guy or gal, with a big welcome to the world, We actually got to watch it hatch. This one egg had a hairline crack in it about a inch long around the small end. I just figured since it kept growing and hadnt quit growing, i would see how it would go, well this is the result. I do beleive it to be a polish chicken. Hatched at 10:45pm


Update on another of the eggs now has a pip in it and one more looks like it is trying to zip

Humidity was at 75 and no pips so I thought I'd just have another look at my two "maybes". As I was carrying them to the bathroom to candle, felt one wiggle in my hand. Sure enough one is internally pipped. No movement in the other but SOO glad I didn't cull them. Put them both back in the incubator about 10 min ago and humidity is at 65% so lock down for real now

So I'm sitting here at the computer and heard the tiniest little 'cheep'! Looked in 'tabor (I have been very good and resisting) and egg #1 has the tip of it's beak out and egg #3 is pipped! But I tried to take a pic and bumped the bator, egg # 1 spun and rolled!!!! Will it be ok????

how cute are those babies! egg #1 is wiggling and i'm still hearing 'cheeps', egg #5 is pipped! Hatch day is tomorrow! I will be home today, how exciting is this!
