seut cakes??

can peas eat seut cakes?
thought about getting a few for them, both for their entertainment and a variety in their diet

Suet? Not sure what seut is, if that's not a misspelling of suet.

If you mean cakes of fat, I would not feed a bird that. They can be prone to fatty liver disease when it's consumed in excess. The most fat they should eat I would think would be obtained from black sunflower seeds, insects and other natural sources of protein, etc. A little fat won't hurt them though, but if you do feed it, apparently the biotin in rolled oats can prevent and even reverse fatty liver disease.

I got my peas a suet cake during the winter. I got one with mashed up peanuts and maybe some other stuff in it like cracked corn. They loved it!!! I gave 8 peafowl one cake so I guess the more birds you feed with one cake the less you would have to worry about them getting too much fat. They had lots of fun pecking at it. I put it in one of their food dishes and they looked at it and finally they started pecking on it.

They loved the peanut one I gave them. There was also a sunflower seed one I saw that I am sure they would like.

I ended up getting them a woodpecker block. Its had all kinds of seeds on it. And no lard.

Mine love it when i hang out a head of cabbage or broccoli unprocessed food are always best when you can feed that, be careful with them blocks, as noted to much fat is not good, these birds are very lean unlike chickens.

The block i got isnt held togather with fat i believe it listed gelatin as what holds it togather. So a little healthier. They also get fresh veggies a vew times a week. But those only last a few minutes. The block has been in since friday and barely a dent has been made in it.

Might want to read the ingredient because i believe gelatin would melt as i use it here for various things.
