I think free choice is the best way to feed chicken because they eat little amount at one time.so that's the reason they want to eat all the time...

I like free choice, no fighting and they can eat at their leisure. If only I was so lucky

My gals get fresh salad with spinach ,mixed greens,fish, wild bird scratch.also they free feed grains from the health food store,about 9 diffrent kinds,the salads etc. are fed 2 x day.They clean the dish each time.They are in good health and weight,and I get eggs each day.The birds are 9 months old .My question is do you think I'm feeding too much? Forgot to say they freerange also.

My chickens get free choice as well. They all free range and we have 2 feeders- one that holds a 50lb bag of crumble and the other holds 25 lb of scratch. They eat at all times!
