Several hens picking on smallest hen to the point of injury - Story Inside, Please Help?

Do you leave them in this area 24/7? This could just be due to boredom. They don't have any grass to pick, insects to find, etc. Can you free range them for even a few hours per day? This could help tremendously.

We just moved recently, so the grass is still growing in. At our last house, they did have grass to pick at and we would let them roam a little if supervised. We plan to do that again once the grass grows in. :)

You may also increase the usable square footage by putting up some perches.  That will give her more opportunity to get away if she wants to.


Thanks for the idea! I just set up a second perch that they can now use. I'm also working on finding a few scratched up CD's and some empty jars to use for treat toys.
