Severe balance problems in 8 week cockerel

Can you look in his ears for any signs of pus, discharge or infection?
I checked them, no signs but the inner ear ones usually aren’t that visible right? It’s the only diagnosis I can think of.. they are keeping him on vitamins still though

If the ear is infected, you'd see pus, inflammation, swelling.

I'm sorry he's not improving a lot. Hard to know what's happening.

Since you've seen Wry Neck within this group before, he may have something chronic that will continue to crop up now and again.

He’s still not improving, so I’m taking him back to look after as my neighbours are guest caring for many other sick animals
He’s not getting worse, or better, but he’s still feisty and eating and drinking independently, still enjoys dust bathing so I’ll do what I can to try and make him better and we’ll see what happens

Sounds like a good idea. I hope he improves under your care.

Keep us posted.

Had an extensive conversation with ChatGPT and it thinks it’s a congenital disorder from improper incubation and lousy genetics
Basically he’ll never get worse, won’t get better but will adapt to walk easier over time

That could be a possibility.

All you can do is try vitamins and nutrition, see if it helps.
