Severe diarrhea in doeling, need advice.

oh she is so sick. I am very worried about her. Standing in the corner with her head hung low. I am worried I am going to lose her.

..and you are sure she doesn't look bloated...big belly left side especially, lethargic, loose bowels....Its tough to watch an animal spiral and not know what to do to help...

no she doesn't look bloated and I hope the vet would have noticed that! I feel helpless

I have lost goats to bloat that really didn't look bloated until they "went down" for the last time....If it is bloat and you think she is in dire straits see if she will eat some baking soda from your hand....You can never tell what to do exactly...even a vet is really just guessing unless it is something that they can test for....I would try some baking soda and try to keep her on her feet....maybe even lead her around alittle...maybe with movement if something Physical is out of place movement may loosen her up...That is all I have...Good Luck

Hey Tara!! Hang in there and call the vet again if you are still worried. I know for my horses, he and Lottie are great. Call him just to get peace of mind, and maybe suggest a fecal.

Here is an article on cocci in goats. it gives a description of what the stool looks like if it is cocci. http://www.tennesseemeatgoats.com/articles2/coccidiosis06.html I'm thinking about ya!!!!!!!

make a baking soda paste ball and put in her mouth even if its not bloat it wont hurt her

She is not doing well. She is in the corner of the barn and she is making an odd sound every time she breaths out. I gave her the baking soda, I will go try to walk her. Yes miss_the north I will call them back tomorrow if she is still with us and not remarkably better. Thanks everyone for the support.

Carolin I read that article earlier. She has no blood in her stool, which is somewhat of a relief. But who knows. I just feel like I can't do anything for her.

if after you give her the baking soda and take her for a walk she looks better...I would take away all feed and water at least until the morning....The noise she makes as she exhales surely sounds like bloat to me...Have you tried listening to her stomach while pinging it with your finger...If she is bloated it will sound like a bass drum...again good luck

I don't know maybe it is bloat. She looks like shes dying when she is laying down, once I have her up walking she looks a bit better. But she really isn't distended. Her tummy sounds liquidy(like a container full of water being shaken) but she hasn't drank much. I have to pull her to make her walk. She doesn't want to do it.
