That was so sweet!
I was just checking out locked hearts website-I want to get some nice peeps in a few weeks/months.

She is my best friend. She and I met through BYC and became instant buddies

I definitely second the poster who suggested Mucinex - it's the only thing that works for me. I also use a lot of warm compresses on my face/sinuses. I've gotten so miserably impacted that even an Altoid didn't have a taste when I tried that. Massage your nose - work your way downward. Stay away from Afrin and nasal sprays that dry you up... I've heard that can just make matters worse. Make sure if you try any medications to ask the pharmacist first about reactions... speaking of pharmacists, sometimes instead of going to the doctor, I've just gone to my pharmacist and explained what the problem is and they have better ideas... sometimes.

Feel better soon!!

Nasal rinses are good for me....with saline water,,,you can make yourself or use saline spray,,,,I use Dr. Neill's with the prepacked packages and just rinse like crazy,,,it keeps sinuses open.

Get a warm air vaporizer...I use a steam kettle on the wood stove top.

Drink lots of warm tea.....and also soup helps....

Feel better soon my friend...... Oh and if you have leftover soup, let me know!

Yes this weather and watering alone has been something for us Southern Belles! and Beaus!

Praying for your health!

I dont know if this has been suggested already or not... have a hot shower and breathe in the steam.... and ummmm how to put this delicately... launch a snot rocket into the tub... you know farmer sneeze.

but it works

I swear by saline nasal drips! Seriously. I've not tried a neti-pot but I'm sure it's very similar. I just get a small dripper bottle thingie of saline, turn my chin towards the ceiling and drip some saline spray INTO a nostrile at a time! It's a WEIRD feeling but it really DOES help kill all the nasties in your sinuses! (apparently they can't survive the salt!) You could also try gargling with warm salty water! The DRY air inside (heat) doesn't help with the sinuses...indoors (hot/dry), outside (COLD and dry)!!!

Good luck and hope you feel better!

I have asthma and allergies and when we moved to the country I was miserable. I got a sinus infection so bad one year it actually bored a hole through the bottom of my sinus.

Now I use the sinus rinse the one some one else recommended and you were given - and after you get used to how it feels it is a miracle! I had no allergies problems ALL summer. I was able to be off almost all asthma meds for the entire fall. It doesn't fix everything, nothing can, but for me it makes a HUGE difference!

Good luck!!

Oh, by the way, when you are done, don't get the econo-buy saline mix! It tastes nasty and leaves a weird smell in your nose.
