One of my girls is really bloated. So bad her crop is also swollen. She was also sick. I have tried warm bath with Epsom salt and massage, checking her vent and also popping some vaseline onto the glove. She is trying so hard to poo and still nothing. I have also tried some oil in a syringe but as she is so bloated she was sick a few minutes after.
Can anyone suggest anything before a trip to the vets.
Thank You

Do you mean that she vomited up crop contents? Can you feel anything inside the vent with a finger? How does the crop feel—full and hard, doughy, or puffy soft? Is there any bad odor from her beak? Has she layed an egg recently? Is her vent area enlarged? Is her belly down between the legs enlarged?

OK, so yes she vomited up crop contents. Nothing inside vent. Crop is soft and squidgy. No bad odour. Not been laying since the storms we had - have tried to feel around to see if I can feel an egg but she is so swollen I can't feel anything. Vent area slightly protruding and more visible when she is trying to push like she is constipated. Yes her belly is swollen everywhere.

So guys, after days of massaging, warm baths, coconut oil, vegetable oil. Olly looked this morning like she was perking up even pooed a little then just checking her to see how she was. Stomach started to go down. But now I can feel a lump so I pop her down while I look to see what the lump could be and she started to be sick. Within minutes she was gone. Thank you for all your suggestions. Gutted.

So sorry for your loss. Most hens I have treated with crop disorders have had other issues, usually reproductive disorders, cancer, or other. If you are up to it, a necropsy at home might point to what was going on with her. Most state vets will also perform a necropsy if the body is kept cold and taken in. If do a home necropsy, take pictures of organs and post them for help.
