I know why! It's because the cranking requires effort and will lift the whole thing up unless something heavy is holding it down

I guess the one we used when I was a kid wasn't big enough to have to sit on. We just took turns cranking while sitting in front of it.

Jeff, I'm so glad to hear that you might be coming! It seems like that first party of Karen's & the one at Cheryl's were a lifetime ago BTW, those Swedish Flower Hen eggs you shipped developed beautifully! I have 12 gorgeous chicks running around the brooder. I will PM you about the next "want" on the list


PPs for me!!!!! Also I will PM you about the turkeys you mentioned in your last post. Michael is adamant that Tucker have some friends & I can't seem to get them to live once they are hatched

We just got back from the farm and there are turkey mamas with baby poults running all over the place! They are the cutest little things! I'll go out there next Saturday and pick up your 2. Jenny says that they will have plenty for Thanksgiving turkeys so I'm resisting the urge to bring a couple home to raise for us.

Hi everyone!!! I know it's been forever since I posted. Life is just happening at break-neck speed...

I can't wait to meet you all at Karens on the 18th. I had set 24 eggs to bring but the hatch has been heartbreaking. Only 4 have hatched. Tomorrow is day 25, I still have movement but not much hope. I cantwait to see what you all bring so I can take home some BYCer chicks.

So nice to hear from you Wendy.............I have been wondering what became of you but knew you were working on your Masters trying to graduate. Hope that is going well.
Glad you checked in I was afraid you may have forgotten & you are closer to me than anyone.....LOL.
Please put a list of your wants on here so everyone knows what you are looking for. I have chicks & eggs coming from different places I hope. I have 2 out this morning but when I checked the humidity had jumped up so much the cover was fogged so I opened it to let it escape. An Am & a BCM were newly out & wet. I will check again in a little while.

Happy Mother's Day! ​

I am looking for 2 Silkie pullets or hens for a friend. Pet quality is perfectly fine as he just wants them to look at Also, he wants any color but black - he is convinced that black birds will die in the summer. I haven't been able to convince him otherwise, even after showing him my 30+ jet black birdies, lol.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have hatching this weekend:

Silkies/ showgirls and marans.

I have 2 frizzled showgirls 2-4 weeks old, about 2 weeks old now some bresse mixes, golden seabrights oegb. A pair of silver laced wynadottes (I think! Unmarked eggs) a pair of frizzled smooth seremas 5 or so weeks old (I girl one guess)
I can bring bresse quail fcbm or silkie surprise eggs. yell if you want pics.
