It doesn't matter what the rest of the head looks like. All that matters is that white spot on the back of the head. That's it. If it's there, the chick is male. If it's not there, the chick is female.

For feather sexing to be accurate, you need to be absolutely certain of the lineage of both parents. The hens need to be slow feathering, and the rooster need to be fast feathering, and you have to be certain that they are pure for those genes. Otherwise, it's just random guessing.Ok... So I can't breed a sex link to a rir rooster and get a sex link. If I breed a sex link with a rir rooster... Can i feather sex? Will that fast feathering K (?) gene still exist?
