wingsofglory, thank you for sharing this. There's so much substance to your post. So many different standard breeds and yet they produced good eggs while the hybrids didn't do so well. I'm glad that little hen got healed because that was taxing to her system to lay 2-3 eggs in 24 hours. As for you, going out in the middle of the night? I hope those night time visits to the coop were in Hawaii and not Alaska. It's still very cold at night in the summertime in Palmer!
