For the last two seasons I have hatched way more hen than cocks. Of the 21 hatched last year only 5 are males and of the 6 hatched the year before only 1 was. My mom thinks that incubator temperature has something to do with it but I dont. I was just wondering if anyone else has this problem and if anyone knows the cause. Do I just have rotten luck?

In 2010, I hatched 1 female and 5 males, then in 2011, got 4 hens and 1 male. I use silkie hens or other broodies to hatch my eggs (0% hatch in incubator). But not a large enough sample to make conclusions..

i dunno about that it seems we get a good mix hens to lay and roos to can
