Sex these Sumatra!

I see pointed feathers on both birds. So both males.

Spur bumps aren't always accurate.

I think those are both pullets,

you should be able to tell by the hackle feathers

I have 5 black sumatras, for a long time I thought I had 2 roos until the saddle feathers and hackle feathers came in. Only 1 roo and 4 pullets.

That's one thing I don't love about the Sumatras! They do mature very slowly, and you are waiting and waiting to find out if you have males or females.

I'm on the fence for the first posted pics, leaning toward males.

The last pic (in the post by itself) is a cockeral.

Yeah, I know! That is one thing I LOVE about my Faverolles (with the exception of the white ones) they are easily sexed, early on!
