Homesteader Julie
Chirping
My biology classes hatched 7 eggs on Feb 24. I had an F1 Oliver Egger roo (BCM x EE) at the time covering 2 Easter Eggers, 2 Buff Orpingtons, 1 RIR x BO cross, a Black Sex Link, and a BCM hen.
Cinnamon- Grey barred seems like to act like a roo, but had a yellow comb for a long time.
Nutmeg- Brown barred seems to kind of act like a roo, but no color on face.
#1 seems like a pullet
#2 not sure because of behavior seems roo at times.
#3 acts roo and was first to be mean to me very early, but I’m not too sure anymore what it is. Got a red face before others though. Looks just like his older sister who has same red face (she’s 4 months old) but he has a longer tail.
Nobody has red combs or wattles that developed early, just some red or pink faces. No three-rowed pea combs like dad had.
I’m so confused! TIA.
