Possibly white leghorn. Can't tell comb yet. And another possibility... maybe Delaware, the White Rocks usually have green looking legs.

If you know which hatchery they came from, sometimes that makes it easier to determine breed because you can look at their site and see what they have. Obviously if they don't have it, isn't a possibility. That's meant as useful info... I don't mind playing guess the breed/gender game at all!

That's a whole lot of incubators! You must know how to do chicken math! :hide
lol chicken math, I actually made them for selling purposes, but my wife decided to keep them all, I still have a lot of materials to make 2 more, but I might do something else, and my chicken smarts are sub par ;)

Oh well, you are int he right place! Maybe make your other two hatchers instead of bators.

That's a trick response? I thought a hatcher and a bator was the same thing? Either way in these styrafoam bator/ Hatchers what I do is just keep eggs in one and hatch them in that and the other I lower the temp to 35c after they are born, so I guess you can call them hatch-ator

I guess... being on BYC, I will eventually get down those metric numbers!

Maybe a trick response... you act like I'm an enabler to hatch more birds or something...

Hello,
I recently purchased this barred rock chick! I'm a little new at this, i've only had grown hens. Can anyone tell the sex? She's about 2 weeks old.

Hi, welcome to BYC!

Comb looks big but the stripes look fairly equal so far.

As it grows a little more... if it looks white with black stripes, boy. White stripes are double wide on boys. Black with white stripes, girl. Behavior among the brood is usually a good indicator at this age. Any chest bumping going on is often but not always the boys.

Here are a few more pictures of her. Her feathers are growing in black with white stripes (girl?) but her comb is growing quickly. All the cockerels i've seen have had yellow ish feet, she doesn't have those, but they are a little light

.
