Sexing a black Americauna

It's really too early to say for sure. Best indicator is usually how many rows the pea comb has--single row is female, triple rows is male.

The chick looks like a female Australorp to me and they do have long tail feathers. How old is it?

I say female (based on comb). Where did you purchase it? Did they say it was an ameraucana? A lot of places sell EEs as Ameraucana. Even if it's an Australorp, I still say female based on comb. My 4 week Olds both have bigger combs than that (pea comb and single combs)
