Sexing a buff Orpington chick (more photos

Hi I recently made a post about this a bunch of you guys said cockerel but I think otherwise for a couple of reasons, the one I’m trying to sex is Butterball (the one with the red comb) I personally don’t think she’s a cockerel for a couple of reasons first: she’s has everything my other pullet has tail feathers, wings up to her tail and when she was a chick she didn’t have the straight line feathers cockerels have,

the only reason we’re suspicious is because she has a pinkish comb (I’ll put some photos below) although that is an indicator I thought (although it’s rare) could she still be a pullet? what do you guys think? Also I forgot to mention she’s 4 weeks and if she didn’t have a pinkish comb she would probably be a pullet?

Agreed, feather sexing doesn’t usually work

Agreed, feather sexing is a trait that needs to be explicitly bred for and buffs aren't one of the breeds that have had that trait bred into them, tail feathers don't mean anything until they're getting their adult plumage in which won't usually be until around 13-15ish weeks

A comb that pinks up early on the other hand is usually a fairly reliable indicator that you have a boy and yours has a very large and pink comb for his age and breed

Well, yes. No reliable way to tell gender for most chicks under the age of 4-6 weeks, at least. Possibly longer for some breeds.

I thought it could still be a pullet (even though its quite rare at that age)????
