Sexing a wheaten marans

Here's Kiki, a three week old wheaten marans. It had a lot of black on the wing at one week and I was sure it was a cockerel, but now I'm not so sure. Thoughts?

Wait until the chest feathers come in. Shouldn't be too long.

Looks like a pullet based on color.

Wait until the chest feathers come in. Shouldn't be too long.

Wheatens of any breed can be tricky, sometimes males have little to no black in the breast until juvenile molt #2. My Malays were like this.

Except mine are blue Wheaten, & they only had a small amount of blue in the breasts for awhile before getting more in.

Looks like a pullet, but it's still so young. Post more pics in a few more weeks.

Wing color indicates pullet but as others have said, it's best to wait for chest feathers since these early feathers are hard to differentiate at times
