Sexing Barred Rocks

Pics
So legs look really dark right? Head spot is pretty small and not bleeding down the neck, so it looks like your new chick could be a pullet. Only a few days old, I'm guessing?

Barred rock are supposed to be one that can be feather sexed. I hear by 3 days some places but read online best at 10-12 days. Anyway, I have seen the tail feathers coming in on some before others. This is supposed to show your females feathering faster. However, most of my experience is limited to reading- as I'm waiting to see if I'm correct with my current chicks. Good luck!

I think both of mine are pullets. Can anyone confirm? :)

One way I think to distinguish a rooster from a pullet....I put our four week old chicks out in the coop for a little romp...when I put them in the plastic bin to put them back in the brooder, the "male" stood upright during the whole ordeal while I was walking back into the house...the "girls" all hunkered down like there was a hawk flying overhead. Plus, he is a light grey while the others are very dark. Shame, he is our favorite. Fearless little guy. Huge feet. Very yellow in color. He tries to be the boss, but the other three won't let him.
