Sexing Barred Rocks

Pics
Junebuggena can you take a look at my avatar pic and tell me if you think my chick is a roo too? "He" is 7 weeks old and I took that picture today.

That's a cockerel. Pullets of any breed won't start turning red in the comb until around 14 to 18 weeks. No pullet will ever have a big, bright pink comb at 7 weeks old.

Thank you mam! I appreciate it tons- kinda sad though and was kinda hoping "he" was just a beautiful hen lol. So the red comb/wattles before 14 weeks old is definitely an indication that the chick is a boy I also have a partridge rock who's comb is red and has little red wattles under the beak. I'll post a pic of "him" tomorrow if you wouldn't mind weighing in on that one too I would appreciate it very much!

Hi, I have moved from the Wyandcotte thread to this one as I'm told this is a barred rock (and a roo). New to keeping chickens and back yard chickens can you help me sex my lovely chick, worried I have a roo but nothing to compare it with.... And how sure can you be at 5 weeks??? Thanks

Definitely male and not a barred rock, looks more like a cream legbar cockerel.

I got these two pullets a few days ago, and they are still in quarantine. The lady I got them from said theyare a couple of months old, but they are pretty big, so I'm guessing 3 months. Everything about them looks girly, except that they both have a couple of longer, curled tail feathers. Any thoughts or reassurances? I don't need another rooster, so I'm not going to introduce to the others if they aren't staying.
