Starting to lay eggs at 8 weeks is typical for Buttons, but I have had some that begin at 10 or 11 weeks. They'll probably start in the next month, especially with lots of light. Also, with only a few quail, you might not see much signs of mating, unless you watch them all day long, especially if they've just startedOk thanks as long as i got one of each i figure they would have been showing signs of mating or even an egg or 2 but nothing i was starting to wonder if i had 3 males
The silver one does the male call the blue brown one doesn’t make any call currently just the low growling sort of noise. I’ll let them get older and watch them carefully thank youNot feather sexable. Sometimes you’ll get slates like that with some red near the vent, if they’ve been crossed to other patterns, I had one that got a few rusty feathers and was otherwise solid slate with no markings. But usually you can’t tell until they lay, or sometimes the calls. I haven’t had buttons in a while, but I think the females make the ha ha haaaaaa call.
