sexing chicks and which store to get them from..?

Hi there, I'm not sure if this is the right section, but, i think it might be..? I was wondering if there was a way to sex chicks? I am going to be getting my chicks (Hopefully) tomorrow. I heard that you can feel the chicks pelvis and its width will tell you if it is male or female..?

I am also wondering which store to pick my chicks from... Country Max, or TSC..? Which do you guys prefer, and does one let you pick out your own, or no..? The Country Max that i shop from seems to have very friendly staff... And what is your normal ratio for roster-to-hen when you pick them out of the tubs..?

My local store is Orschelns, I was basically pleased with them until last week when I walked in and the chicks were in horrible condition. They normally let you pick your own.

As far as the sexing goes, ever watch Dirty Jobs? lol

If you absolutely MUST have pullets only, I'd suggest consider buying sexlinks. Most feed stores/rural stores normally have red sex links and often have black sex links. The males and females are sexable by feather coloration at hatch.
