Sexing Chicks

At what age can you accurately sex your chickens? Mine are almost 2 weeks old is this to young to know. I've read so many things I'm not sure what to look for. Any ideas or tips?

Usually 6-8 weeks, some can be sexed as early as 4 weeks.
Comb development before 10 weeks is a big giveaway for cockerels.

What all should I watch with comb development. None of them are really raised and are yellow there no pink or redish tint to them like I have read. And I read it you hold hens on their backs they are calm and all mine do that.

It is possible you have all pullets. Pictures could help out greatly!

You need to wait until six weeks old. Then look for bigger redder, combs. Those are cockerels. Females won't get red combs until around 16-20 weeks old, when they start laying. Feel free to post pics on here, when they are of age. We are glad to help!

It's best to post photos at 6-8 weeks of age - once the chicks are fully feathered out.

Glad you joined us, we'd LOVE to see pictures As all have said your chicks are young and between the ages of 6 - 8wks is about the time chicks maybe easier to sex. Watching for comb/wattle development & color, knowing the breed sometimes helps and anytime older, the cockerels will start developing hackle & saddle feathering.
