Oh sorry! Silkies- all my other chicks I can tell sometimes at 5 days by their combs. Other breeds I have to wait a bit longer, but my silkies I have to wait 3 or 4 months.

I don't really have pictures of me feather sexing silkies right now. I would have to get pictures next spring.

I do have some 1 week old Cockerel wing feather pictures from my Giant Silkie Project. I Sexed them with comb size and color, not wing feather sex this time.

These two boys do have a similar growth rate, but there's a slight difference. Note that the Primaries, & Secondaries are about the same length.

I have no female Silkie Feather Samples at the moment.

I do have some pictures of both sexes from my Wheaten Crele Orpington project. One picture included is a Heritage Plymouth Barred Rock X Buff Orpington mix.

Is it a bit pricey, or a cheap way to sex chicks accurately ?

It's usually pretty pricey, sometimes you can get a bulk deal if you do multiple birds. I think I paid $20-25? for 1 bird. 100% accurate though.
