Sexing Cuckoo Maran and Ameraucanas

Hello,
I have always purchased Hens that were just starting to lay. This is our first time with getting day old chicks.
We are getting Cuckoo Marans and Ameraucanas.
For both breeds what do I look for in sexing without using the vent? I am not experienced enough so will not try for safety of the bird.
Also what ages will I be able to notice what I should be looking for?
Any useful websites with photos on what to look for would also be great.

I've read that cuckoo Maran males are lighter than the females. Did you get a true americauna or and easter egger? I think by 6 weeks you should be able to tell by the comb color.

They are true Ameraucana’s.

Marans can usually be sexed by 6 weeks by their combs. Ameraucana may take a little longer but you can also sex them by comb. If you Google your breed and an age, you can find images of what pullets and cockerels should look like.
