Sexing Deathlayer Chicks

I purchased her from a breeder who lives on the OR coast. Let me know if you want her info!

I need to get an incubator. I’d love to hatch some eggs out!!!

She’s not much for having her pic taken, but meet Daisy the Deathlayer.

They have such pretty markings! If I need any chicks I’ll reach out. Thank you! Would rather drive to get them than ship.

Mine are about 6 weeks oldish. Have three from hatching eggs I purchased down in Centralia. Only 3 hatched out of 12?! The frustrations in hatching are real. These weren’t shipped eggs, so should have had over 75% hatch.

If you do get an incubator, make sure you have a couple brooder boxes and tons of feeders and waters. Because you won’t stop hatching lol

Oh my gosh yours is so cute! Can’t wait till my gals head feathers come in. When did yours start getting a comb? Mines 4 wks with no comb in sight.

Huge bummer on the hatch rate! I’ve bought mine all as young chicks, but have a sweet giant brooder, so if I do incubate and get a decent hatch rate, I’ll be ok.

I have a couple 8 week old Deathlayers. I have been thinking they are pullets but would like someone else’s opinion. 1st 3 pics are chick 1, last 3 pics are chick 2.

That little one is still in question. The obvious cockerel has big wattles and comb is bright red now. The other looks just like yours. No red, no comb and no wattles.

Should know in a couple weeks if it’s a late developing cockerel :)

Here’s the cockerel at 4 weeks. Don’t mind the midgets posing with him...

Here’s the other one at 4 weeks. She’s now 6 weeks and still no comb. She reminds me of your bird, that’s why I say still Daisy :)
