Sexing Deathlayer Chicks

I have had lots of inquiries about sexing deathlayer chicks not here but on Social media so i figured i would post this to help some of you out if you are having problems sexing yours . Sexing deathlayer chicks is not impossible as people think at about 4 weeks old when the feathers start coming in you can see the difference if you will look at the pics you can see the one facing away is a cockrel if you look at the wing feathers you will see difinitive bands the females wings are a little more scattered and not banded as the cockrel . Vent sexing is a major issue for some even after watching how to videos ... hope this helps some of you out on your endeavors ! Happy Hatching

Sorry i miscalculated mine were born on august 12th so they are a little over 5 weeks old ... and sexing them is no problem as you can see comb and wattles are very telling on the roo

I just hatched out 10/12 Gold Deathlayers. Yes, they were shipped eggs!! They are the cutest little chipmunks....

Interesting names. You sure came up with those fast. Or maybe I just read them fast . Because I just have the two I was thinking of a famous couple type name like George and Gracie, or Lucy and Dezy. Showing my age a bit. You have definitely made me think about it.

I love that gold color, I had to give away one of my roosters, I still have 2 chickens 1 rooster, 21 weeks old now , rooster is big I will try to upload a picture later today
