I did measure but really only to be sure that I was taking the best 50%. If I take less I can probably do it just by eye. My last hatch was just by eye because I picked them out of the farm shop, I didnt get a very successful hatch though and only have three out of the six. Out of those three its looking as though I have two males, which is a bit of a set back for this theory/hypothesis, but they are still only 8 weeks so I may be mistaken. I wont be doing any more hatches until january and then my first will be ducks. i'm not so sure that it works so well with ducks; I have had 50% of my duck hatches male but thats based on only 10 ducks. I will keep an eye on it next year. Overall this year I have had very positive results by just setting round eggs.
