Sexing Guineas

If it buck-wheats I'll band the leg with a pink or yellow zip-tie (loose in the leg but snug enough that it won't skip off the foot over the toes).

As they grow do you switch off the bands for a bigger size?

They have to be changed out as the keet grows, as they become snug... but usually after 12 weeks old the bones in the leg are as big as they are going to get and I don't have to change them again By then I can usually tell them apart by their posture/shape/color tho... plus at 12 wks old the buck-wheating Hens never shut up, lol no need for leg bands!
