I just got three 5 week old marans and their comb look big and red. I was worried they were boys but now I have a bit of hope.

love the update! I have 2 1/2 week old marans I'm dying to know the sex of! Guessing feels like Chicken Russian Roulette!

I'm hoping all mine come out anywhere near as beautiful as she is. Could I be so lucky as to have 7?

I'm really confused now I thought the lighter coloured Marans were cockerels
Your hen just looks like what I thought were my cockerels!

So bottom line with BCMs...just wait and see? Here are couple of 6 weekers (one blue (in pic) and one black) that we're considering getting.
The 2nd pic is a splash that was hatched 2 days later has a definite comb & wattle. Thoughts?
