Sexing my Maran Chicks - 10 weeks

it may just be a faster developed pullet. I’ve had a few with pronounced wattle (even comb) development before 10 weeks.

Yes! The red on the wings will start soon or will have already started. I do not see the back and wings well enough in the picture.

In agreement with the rest - #1 and #5 are your cockerels. I absolutely LOVE Marans!

No 1 is a cockerel
No 2 Is a pullet
I lean towards cockerel on number 3 and pullet on number 4
No 5 is a cockerel

Watch for red on the shoulders of no 3. If so, then the black one is a cockerel for sure

I haven't seen any red yet. Fingers crossed, because this one is the sweetest one out of all of them. Really hope it's a girl!!!!

That’s number 4 - everybody here is leaning towards a girl, but look at the little tail??? Maybe it’s a cockerel which develops its comb later? It is also the smallest of the 5. (Is this an indication?)
