Sexing Peachicks - India Blues

Now I could be wrong, but it seems to me that the green around their necks indicates that they are hens. And unfortunately that's about as much color as they're gonna get. BTW, those babies look ridiculously healthy and happy. Peacocks are supposed to be more delicate than most other to hand raise and yours look great. Good going.

Thank you very much! If you look at my pictures in the beginning (of the 3, Sheldon, Penny, and Leonard) they all got green neck feathers. They have all blended in with blue feathers now on Sheldon. He's definetly all boy!
Everyone locally I had talked to said peacocks were to hard to hatch, and would probably die within 6 wks. I only had 2 eggs not hatch and they were blanks. The 5 that did hatch are these guys I have pictures of. Everyone on this site was so helpful in giving info or directing me to info. So I give credit to everyone who help give my kids a good start!

I'm still learning, but I would say you're correct. Nice looking chicks!

I got a picture of Mr & Mrs Pea today!! They are the pround parents of these 3. I'm glad Mr Pea is finally getting his tail back, he looked awful

mmm... lettuce! The chickens want some!

i agree im really not seeing the difficult side to peas yet.
i incubated 4 eggs and all 4 hatched,
all with assistance yes. but we had a power outage and my humidity got all outa wack.
i did loose one baby but she was the last to hatch and just not strong enough to make it .
the only other chick i lost was sick when i got it, it was given to me for free because the breeder did not want the hassel . i tried for over a week to cure the pneumonia but failed.
my other babies have all been happy healthy . worm free (i did fecals at school)
and on the ground since 2 weeks old. (outside outings daily)
and outside full time at 3-4 months old. and everyone is happy and healthy
and living alongside chickens
with no problems.

the other purple is inside the coop
but 10 happy healthy. GREEDY peas.
only 2 for sure males.
purple i am still on the fence about. either a pair or 2 hens
