sexing peachicks

Best comparison I've seen of purple and blue is this young pic of a pair of yearlings. Most PICTURES you are going to see online of purple vs blue, the purples look an awful lot like blues (at least they do to me!) but the difference in person is painfully, amazingly obvious.

just ready your whole thread and LOVED your pictures, sooo cute!!
its so hard to tell when they're so young. here's a cpl picts of our babies at 5 days old.

The all white one saddly passed on at about 2 weeks :( but the others are doing great :) I believe we have a pied, silver pied and black shoulder. hard to see but one of the ones that looks all white has the tinge of brown on the flights in these picts.
Do you guys think we're right?
Here's some more current photos. They're now 5.5 weeks old :)

This is 3.5 wks old all 3, front george - pied, back houdini - silver pied, right midnight - black shoulder.

This is midnight - blackshoulder at 5 weeks. we believe she is a girl.

This is Houdini - Silver pied at 5 weeks with my friend Julie. We believe he's a boy. Very out going and super people friendly, he wants to be a shoulder parrot.

Here's George - pied and Midnight - Black Shoulder at 5 weeks. We think George is a boy because he's SOOO BIG :) (we have a one year old daughter - every body is SO BIG)

Hope you like the picts. Now about sexing... because they're sooooo different by looks we can't tell at all, except George the pied his flights are a bit rusty colored and he's larger than the other two. What we're mainly going on tho is the way they act. Midnight - BS is very laid back and timid and follows the other two. While Houdini - SP is so out going you can't keep him off you, he's always leading the pack and venturing on his own. He's the first to go after food etc. the way he acts shouts male. George's - pied, personality is kind of in the middle leaning toward outgoing. but because of his size we think boy.

What do you guys think?? Thanks, Autumn

Personally my female was always the outgoing one. In other threads, it seems when people are talking about one of their chicks being more outgoing than the others, it ends up being a female. Yours are VERY cute babies- I am especially jealous of George. Pieds are my favorites

got new peachicks today
they are around 4 weeks old =)
2 pieds =)

piper and poppy are not too impressed with their new friends.

and i also have a question.
at what age do you guys switch the peas to adult food?
or atleast start switching them.
and what does everyone feed?
i planned on feeding them the same thing the ducks get (along with lots of goodies and they will freerange)
but i feed the ducks a mixture of multi flock, sweet feed (for horses) oats, and cracked corn.
hopefully this is ok for the peas?

Sounds good to me. Mine are not picky at all. Will they be free-range or penned? You'll have less to worry about nutrition-wise if they can range even if it's a few hours a day.

They will be free ranging. 2 more weeks and the oldest 4 are going to move outside but will still be penned for a while yet, Prolly wont start freeranging till late fall of early spring
