I took in a turkey about a year ago who ended up being a male. I hatched out two Royal Palm poults in hopes of getting him a girlfriend. They are about 10-weeks old now. The smaller one started strutting around 2 weeks of age but I can’t decide if they look male or female or one of each?

Both have black already on their feathers. Neither has gobbled.

Are they still too young to tell? I’m so impatient…

I did the leg dangle test when they were little and both seemed like girls… but then the one started to strut.. and both had blockish heads in my opinion which indicates boys according to the internet… lol
Both are so sweet and enjoy pets and sitting in my lap… which my Tom never liked…. I’d love if both ended up being girls!

Far too young to sex from photos. If you don't want to wait, there are a number of places that will do a DNA test for sex from either a blood or feather sample.

Updated pics at a little over 15 weeks. I’m leaving towards both being girls. The smaller one does strut sometimes but has never gobbled. Both are very affectionate and like to sit in my lap. My large male was never like that…

What do yall think? I feel like both have “Mohawks” and would say 100% girls if the one didn’t strut sometimes.

At 15 weeks, toms can still have a bit of a mohawk especially if they are late developing toms.

Both do appear to be hens.
